After seeing another F150 owner mount this below their license plate, I immediately wanted one to supplement my pillar lights. Due to the supply chain challenges facing everyone it took a little longer to receive after I ordered, but the Heretic team kept me up to date. The unit came packaged really well, and first impressions are everything. The unit itself is almost a work of art! Well finished and solid. The only thing I might look at changing would be to add some sort of cover over the wire connects on the back. With the single block construction its a challenge, but worth looking. I won't be driving in too deep a water or lots of snow, so a challenge for another day. I fabricated a custom bracket to mount the light right below the license plate (the width with the mounting is absolutely perfect for this) and the results are exactly what I wanted. Factory look and excellent light output. Even mounted low, the Heretic 10" light bar puts out more useable light than my pillar lights from another competitor even though they are rated for higher output. Next step will be to replace those with Heretic ones as well. Pic shows the completed and installed setup.
Lovely Golden Color
I put these next to both Rigid ambers and Baja Design ambers. These Heretics seem to have the best balance of the deeper wavelengths vs brightness. The Rigids were much more amber, but darker and the Baga Designs were brighter but less amber (which would negate the point of having amber lights in dusty/snowy conditions). These Heretics produce an extremely golden color. So of the three choices I had, I chose to keep the Heretics.
Just what I wanted
I bought this light bar to put above my winch on my general , I love it! Heavy duty you can feel the quality as soon as you pick it up and it super bright with great light distribution, you can't go wrong with any of heretics lights
